I can see three mountains from my window - one, central, and two framing the valley either side of it - a cul-de-sac of stone and cloud. Today, I saw the King-in-Winter kiss his bride across the valley, sanctified by the ice-cold river that runs between. For one of the surrounding mountains is shaded from the morning sun, and covered with the frost; and the other, full bright, is warm and dry and brown with bracken and patches of evergreens. How wonderful are the gods, alive within the land.
