Here and Now

Lips unkissed.
Hands un-held.
Sweet Nothings never spoken and caresses never made.
Nothing to hold.
Nothing to lean to.
Nothing to be there for or give support.
How long is it reasonable to wait for a touch, a turn of phrase, the feelings of being alone relaxing a bit? Once hope is defeated and the reality sets in with no warmth to help, it becomes a closed system.
Nothing new. Nothing changed. Nothing but days trailing other days.
I wonder if this can be considered to be healthy, safe – I don’t think we were designed for this.
But lips are still unkissed, hand still unheld, Love still distant and elusive. And the choice is to either live with it all or throw in the towel and end the suffering; which is better in the long run?

These questions were originally suggested by [livejournal.com profile] polypolyglot.

1. Do you believe you can have more than one soulmate in life?

2. Are you with that soulmate now?

3. If not, how long did your relationship with your soulmate last?

4. Do you still think about your soulmate, if you are not together?

5. If you're not together, do you think your soulmate still thinks about you?

Of Course;>!

So, today I was clearing up past it flowers and one of the things on the list was my patch of Swamp Milkweed. It's floppy, covered in aphids and hasn't bloomed in at least 2 yrs. I'd decided to cut it back and dig it up once the weather gets cooler BUT today there were a handful of Monarch caterpillars! Couldn't be much more than a couple weeks old. Guess it's staying but might get replaced by one that would bloom regularly like the Yellow kind...

Photos: Fairy Garden Lantern Deconstruction

Someone overheard that I'm working with terraria and gave me this fairy garden lantern so I could turn it into a terrarium. :D So today I deconstructed it and cleaned the container.

The lantern part has an open top with a hanging loop and a solid base. It has a hexagonal shape with a narrow top, widest part below the middle, and slightly narrower base. The panes appear to be rigid plastic. The frame seems to be metal. There's a bit of heft to the base, even when empty.

first weekend

There's nothing quite like reading fanfic that jumps up on your buttons and rolls around on them like my cat jumping up on my keyboard while I'm working.

Weekend one is not off to a great start, I'm gonna be honest. It's definitely now Autumn and the pressure change has my vertigo messing with me. At the moment I have tinnitus in both ears, but the right ear is the whooshing sound I usually get and my left ear is a high-pitched sound. The combination of tinnitus and audio processing disorder leads to the most ridiculous scenes in stores or restaurants or anywhere I have to talk to people because I'll be partway through an interaction and lose the ability to understand what the other person is saying.

The plan for this weekend has been cut down since bending over and other various weird movement is out, but at minimum we're planning on taking some stuff to goodwill tomorrow. This will happen. Bug went through her books some and for her that's huge. And we paid somebody with a truck to come take a few things too big for the car, so... Definitely some progress. Just not as much as I'd like.

I did also finish a fic last night but not anything I've been intending to work on, just something that took over my brain this week. Yay, that!

Sprung from the Hospital

Well… I have about a 0% desire to ever do that again, but hospitalization isn’t supposed to be a walk in the park.

My roommate got a bit nervous because last time I got sick it got way critical, so she was all over me like Jowls on a Basset hound to go into the hospital. So was a buddy of mine out in California. When my primary care physician and my nephrologist joined the voting I gave in. It was, in comparison a short stay. Still, hospitalization is never a benign medical practice, so I’ve come out on the other end with some problematic health issues – secondary infections are the modern reality, but they’re also sucky.

I’m not as angsty about this as I’ve been in the past, because I’ve accepted that my health is going to require some attention and course correction moving forward. It’s the reality of having a suppressed immune system.

It amazes me that they’ve got those beds in hospitals with the ability to adjust to any position someone could think of, save a position that’s comfortable. And being in the hospital can do all kinds of warped things to my sleep cycle.

But yes, I’m back loose in the world, so you may again have an occasional blonde blind bad-ass broad sighting.

I’m not working on anything right now, because I want to revisit the last thing I finished and check for things not done up to my standards because I was writing while sick.

And Tuft and Needle mattresses are the total bomb – sleeping on mine, with the Holy Terrier there against me, is great sleep.
