I would be interested in hearing more about this Power. I admit, all the pictures of the Strid I have seen make me think less of someone so elegant, and more of a small, sturdy old woman, grey hair pinned tight over a felt cap. Like a more outdoors version of an bodyguard/assassin I once read about in a children's book -- an old woman who used her knitting needles against her targets, to stab under their ears and into their brains.
I am also reminded of Persephone from the first version of Hadestown -- "Our Lady of Ways, our Lady of Means, our Lady of the Upside-Down" -- given the way that the Strid is not cruel, it is simply that it is a random shift of geology and gravity that turns the simple creek to an inescapable deathtrap.
Our Lady of the Side-ways (?)
