76 in the Shade
If anyone's struggling with the heat, a really good lo-fi hack:
- If it's warmer outside than inside, keep the windows shut
- If it's warmer inside than out, open the windows
- Two windows open forming a 'corridor' where the wind passes through creates the best breeze
- Block all light from coming in. Carboard, sofa cushions, spare curtains, get them all over the windows when the sun shines on them.
- Monitor your house throughout the day to get windows opened/closed/covered at the right times
I'm really satisfied by how well this is going in our home!

Sprinkle water on your bed sheets.
When the sun begins to set, fill a shallow tub with water and soak your feet in it to cool your core.
Use the stove as little as possible -- cold meats, canned goods, cold sandwiches and fruit are the rule of the day.
