not to be gauche but I got some money for christmas and oh my god, the sheer visceral bliss of browsing for new books and records. Kinda depressing that the sensation of "freedom" is being produced by "the ability to participate in consumer capitalism"; but hell, I've had years of "trappedness, produced by being blocked from participating in consumer capitalism" so maybe it's just good to enjoy that feeling of breathing out

Fuck. Gods, its so hard to know what to do. I think I'm going to get Adlestrop on vinyl. The new Mark Fisher book. I really want a physical copy of Algernon Blackwood, but he's been dead for decades and idk I guess that doesn't seem like it should be a priority. A zine by this activist/poet I like about how the publishing industry sucks. Maybe some really freakin obscure movies. Or the new Worzel Gummidge.

Oh, just the pleasure of getting to touch something new.

ohhhhh and that book of "forgotten" women's weird fiction; my god, the pleasure of getting to curl up with a book in bed with a cup of tea. For all that I love project gutenberg et al, I really do like the different sense of time that stepping away from the computer provides. Especially for horror fiction.
