Near where I live are two of the best 2nd hand stores that have ever existed. It's been my birthday, so I treated myself - all for under £50 in total, mind - to one of those vintage drinks bars shaped like a globe that opens, for storing ritual clutter in; a big 1970s golden floral bedspread; a matched set ewer and six chalices in forest-green ceramic, patterned with stars, for #myfuturecoven; an amber ceramic tankard with a relief pattern of wheatsheves on it; and a ceramic hawk for the wall, as a protective friend.

I'm trying to build up this very 70s mood in the house (my aspirations for a victorian home are, alas, dashed; but 70s is still seen as quite grotty and so you can find stuff). So I'm trying to make a wall of old brown landscape paintings, horse brasses with slightly creepy designs, hanging plates, and generally the vibe of what you find on a pub wall, but it's that creepy pub you're staying at while you investigate mysterious rural goings on, rumoured to be the work of the devil by simple, common folk of the land. I'm planning to make a couple of cross-stitchings and framed tapestries to complete the mood (on brownish backing cloth, with plants or proverbs or, i'm not sure yet)

The only sad thing is they had a whole bunch of rugs, that other people had already taken :/ We have a large downstairs, perfect for company, and it has godawful landlordish faux-wood fitted-floor in shiny beige-pink. So the plan is to absolutely cover it with old rugs, in dark colours.

I've also got the hooks and cloth now to put up a sparkly canopy over the bed

I love my new leather jacket so, so much. I've wanted one all year

(basically, I met a woman with a jacket like it at a protest. She left her bags with me and disappeared all day while trying to lobby the mayor. I actually met her again at the Autumn Rebellion. She didn't remember me, but I was like "hey! I remember you and your great work with the mayor!" And thinking "I remember how much I wanted you not to come back so I could steal your jacket")

But wow, it's all about styling. With a bit of care, I'm satisfyingly giving Tom of Finland vibes. If I don't pay attention, though, the same jacket gives gap year Sloane, which is infinitely wrong.
