Rereading some historic discourse about hard polytheism & the importance of treating your Gods as real as housefires and flooding & trying to let that inspire me for the night - but to be fair, I let real important parts of my life lapse all the time, not because I do not believe in my landlord's objective reality, but because I am very tired.

(someone has linked to a number of key posts here, allowing you to reconstruct the conversation; how quaint old discourse is, like, one can appreciate it as interesting, knowing the distance means it will not come to get you. Of that collection, 'Gods of Consequence' is most striking to me.)

I've been hit by covid again, but one reassuring part about it is how much I hate being indoors now. I've got into a good rhythm of just going out whenever I hit a loose end in my day, & times without that feel strange and nothinglike. I'm not so ill I can't go about in my life, so I'm trying to be careful to rest more than I think I need to.

What I want today is to be up in the barren hills where the winds of horses are & sing out - the sky is perfect for it - white and bright and a touch of warm gold, and the air muggy with the threat of thunder.
