haptalaonI need to get better at taking my own insight seriously. I ignored my 2018 Midsummer tarot reading which said everything was about to be hideous, because I wasn't in the mood and that's not the energy of Midsummer I wanted (it was right)
and I'm writing up a small piece on the Landmother at the moment, and thinking a lot about last year when I had an incredibly disturbing encounter with the washers at the ford and sort of, didn't know what to do with it, because I couldn't imagine any kind of situation in which "omen of mass death coming soon" would be relevant. There are ancient places where I am, so I wondered whether perhaps I was seeing the past and there had been a battle. LOL @ me. That's the last time I go out on a Wednesday on a New Moon in Wales (Wednesday is their Day Of Stuff Walks Abroad; where I'm from, it's a Friday)
it's a difficult barrier to get past, I think, your own reluctance to wholly buy in to what you're doing - or the tension between credulity and cynicism. In fact, I'm reminded of a skype chat I had with someone who idk how I got into contact with who proposed a system of Hidden Masters which gradually initiate a witch, but the Hidden Masters are little tests to overcome - like, do I have the energy to get out of bed for the solstice, or, when I have a terrifying in-person encounter with the Washers do I take seriously what that omen represents, or when i try to cast a spell do I really believe that I can do it? And that these things could be seen not as personal flaws and barriers, but as tests - tests set by observers, waiting to see you overcome them. It's an interesting idea and, i think, quite an encouraging one.
