Tarot Temples
9 July 2018 15:07Def my favourite use of tarot cards is to build an altar or temple, or as a focal point in a spell. I put a card out in each of the three corners of the temple as a quick "circle" substitute, where a more formal ceremony could use candles or more. You can use a card to represent an aspect of a divinity, or just a thing you're hoping for and want to work on.
My beloved and I are temp homeless, and it's really brought home to me how effective tarot temples and altars are. Also that they never feel like a poor substitute - even aesthetically, the little altar ive thrown together with 6 tarot cards, a bandana, an amulet, and a small god figure looks Insta-good; and magically, I think the tarot are sufficiently familiar to me now that it's a very subtle system for communicating ideas on a deeper level. It really works, and above all of course, setting up a little road altar makes everywhere feel like home.
