(For my international readers, there is a General Election happening in the UK at the moment; Corbyn leads the left-wing Labour party)
I don't understand why this is a slur. Look at almost any graph. Carbon emissions. Inequality between rich and poor. Increasing productivity vs wage stagnation. House prices.
In all of them, it's the 70s where it goes from a gentle upwards ramp to a sharp and escalating spike. Whatever is wrong with the world now, started going wrong in the 70s. So if a vote for the man genuinely returns us to the politics of the 70s, perhaps that's exactly where we ought to be.
