One of the real pleasures of developing a tradition in which the Reading List is a core part is that there is, indeed, a large pile of to-read books on my sacred bookshelf - which is right next to my bed, always there and waiting for me. To read through, annotate, copy down any important insights, and finally put online. It's really pleasurable and, for the first time in a long time, I'm feeling like I'm Doing Some Paganism. Like, I feel like I'm developing in what I do. Because I've designed What I Do around my abilities. I suck at ritual, in every way, but close-reading Tolkien's letters for spiritual insight - now THAT I can do.

Now reading Rising Ground: A Search for the Spirit of a Place by Philip Marsden. It’s beautiful.
