Hello all! One of my hobby friends has just joined DW for her writing (stories_by_rushlight ), and I know I have a lot of mutuals who use this as a writing/professional writing/fanfic writing/writing community space.

What communities are the best & most active ones to meet others and find supportive writing buddies? She's crafting original fantasy, writing-for-pleasure

It won't be open again for new members until January, but getyourwordsout has a lot of good stuff, and places to meet active writers. You set a goal (either number of words or number of days you plan to write), but there are also discussions, cheering space, and other regular posts throughout the month.

Subscribing to the community should mean you see the public posts about "sign up for next year" when they start happening in December.

Brilliant, thank you. AND additionally, my husband came in last night asking me to writing buddy/cheerlead/nanowrimo but for the entire year his novel-writing plans for next year, so I'm going to pass this on to him also
